Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 27, 2026
- You can check the weather without giving us any personal information.
- If you join our daily forecast email, we keep your first name, email address and ZIP code so we can send it.
- We don't sell your information or share it with anyone for their marketing.
- We don't use advertising cookies, analytics trackers or tracking pixels.
- You can unsubscribe at any time, and you can ask us to delete your information.
This policy explains what information MyWeatherWatch ("we", "us") collects through myweatherwatch.com (the "Website") and our daily forecast email, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, email us at info@myweatherwatch.com.
1. Information we collect
When you check the weather
To show a forecast, we need a location:
- If you type a ZIP code, we use that ZIP code to look up its forecast.
- If you don't, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, tells our server the approximate location of your internet connection (a ZIP code or rough coordinates), and we use it to show your local forecast. The ZIP code box is then filled in for you.
We send only the ZIP code or approximate coordinates to our weather data provider, never your name, email or IP address. We don't store your location against you. We do keep each location's forecast for up to 10 minutes so we don't have to request the same forecast again, but that stored copy is weather data, not information about you.
When you join the daily forecast email
When you sign up, we store:
- your first name and email address, as you typed them;
- the ZIP code shown on the page when you signed up, so your email covers the right place;
- your country, as reported by Cloudflare from your connection;
- the date and time you signed up, and which version of the sign-up wording you agreed to, as a record of your consent.
Technical information
Like any website, our hosting provider Cloudflare processes basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is used to deliver the Website, keep it secure and fix problems, and is kept only for a limited time.
On your device
If you switch between °F and °C, your browser remembers that choice in its local storage, so the page shows your preferred unit next time. It stays on your device and is not sent to us.
We don't use advertising cookies, analytics services or tracking pixels. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the Website from abuse.
2. How we use your information
- to show you the weather for the location you asked about, or for your approximate location;
- to send you the daily forecast email you signed up for, for your ZIP code;
- to keep a record of your sign-up and of any unsubscribe request, so we honor your choice;
- to protect the Website and the email list from spam, fraud and abuse;
- to comply with the law.
3. Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it with other companies for their own marketing.
We use a small number of service providers who handle information only on our behalf and only to run the service:
- Cloudflare hosts the Website and the database that holds the email list.
- WeatherAPI.com provides the forecasts. It receives only a ZIP code or approximate coordinates.
- Our email delivery provider sends the daily forecast email to subscribers.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights or safety of our users or others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the Website. In that last case, this policy would continue to apply to your information.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your sign-up details for as long as you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you right away. We keep your email address and the date you unsubscribed so we don't email you again by mistake. If you'd like that record deleted too, email us and we'll remove it.
5. Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe at any time using the link in any of our emails, or by emailing info@myweatherwatch.com.
- Access, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing us. We may need to confirm the request comes from the owner of the email address.
- Check the weather anonymously by typing any ZIP code instead of using your location.
Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other U.S. states), you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, including the right to know what we collect and to request deletion. We don't sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights, and we'll respond within the time the law requires.
6. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limited access to the email list. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.
7. Children
The Website and newsletter are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete it.
8. Where your information is processed
The Website is intended for people in the United States. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date. If the change is significant, we'll let subscribers know by email before it takes effect.
